Murals Firestation

This 12 meter mural, was painted by members of the Wickham Multi Arts Group and the local community, Irene a founding member of the group, was the mural project coordinator.

The purpose of the mural was to promote the recently established group that needed a "home" for creative activities and members to meet. It was also a means of promoting the location of the Wickham Annex of Karratha College, where Irene was an Arts lecturer, to build community spirit and to enhance and brighten the town of Wickham. The project achieved all the above outcomes with the group soon having their own space in what used to be one the old mess buildings.

The mural no longer exists, with the building being demolished in 2002.
